4th annual spring clean!
Volunteers Collected Nearly 1,500 Pounds of Litter at the “Spring Cleanup” Event
THANK YOU to all of the volunteers that helped out at the 4th Annual Spring Cleanup on May 11th.
We had 165 volunteers cleaning up litter from fourteen different neighborhood locations throughout South Tahoe, and they collected an estimated 1,500 pounds of trash and debris from our environment.
The overwhelming majority of the litter collected was single-use plastics, food packaging, straws, and cigarette butts, but volunteers reported finding a variety of other items as well: clothing items, diapers, alcohol bottles, plastic flossers, dog poop bags, tire pieces, tire chains, pallets, and even a Christmas tree.
